Working Mother Magazine Honors Geeta Rao Gupta

Posted by Ruth Levine at 02:22 PM

When the best among us is recognized for great work, it's cause for celebration. At an award ceremony yesterday, Working Mother Magazine recognized Geeta Rao Gupta, president of the International Center for Research on Women, for her work to promote the cause of multiculturalism and diversity. Geeta has shown tremendous leadership in her work to focus attention on key constraints to women's equality in developing countries (including with the Millennium Project Task Force on Education and Gender Equality, co- chaired by Nancy Birdsall), and has brought new evidence to bear about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women. I am proud that we at CGD are working with Geeta and her colleagues on the HIV/AIDS Monitor program, and congratulate her on this well-deserved award.
