Welcome Victoria Fan to CGD

Today we are excited to welcome Victoria Fan to CGD as a global health research fellow. Victoria is a health economist with extensive experience in the analysis and evaluation of health insurance, health financing, and other public health policies, mainly in India as well as China and the U.S. (State of Vermont).
Her recent work has focused on the economics of health systems and policies in India –including child diarrhea prevention, state health insurance and out-of-pocket health spending, and the evaluation of safe motherhood interventions on utilization of material health services. Victoria comes to CGD with a doctoral degree from the Harvard School of Public Health and has worked with various non-government organizations in Asia, different academic units in Harvard as well as the World Bank and WHO.
At CGD, Victoria will be working on strategies to improve the efficiency of global health funders, and further pursuing her own research interests in health systems, evaluation sciences, and health economics.
We are happy to welcome Victoria to CGD, and are looking forward to the new ideas for global health and development that are sure to follow with her.

Victoria’s arrival coincides with the departure of Nandini Oomman—the director of the HIV/AIDS monitor, as she is heading off to explore new opportunities in Vietnam.
