Who Will be Selected by the MCC as Eligible for FY2010?

December 3, 2009

The Rethinking U.S. Foreign Assistance team recently held an event to roll-out its annual MCC selection paper that details our predictions for which countries the MCC Board will likely choose as eligible for fiscal year 2010 during its December 9th Board meeting.  In addition to our country forecast, highlights this year include discussion on the MCC’s new approach to countries graduating from LIC to LMIC, the issue of second compacts, and the double demands of initiating new compacts and focusing on implementing current compacts well – many competing pressures for the first selection round of the Obama Administration to navigate with the Board.  We took our best bet at how we think they will tackle this round’s issues and pick FY2010 countries.  As always, we aim to inspire a conversation….to hear what you think.  Take a look at the report and share your thoughts and predictions.
