Which Countries Jump the FY10 Corruption Hurdle?

Posted by Casey Dunning in MCA/MCC, Rethinking U.S. Foreign Assistance Tags: ,

I’m excited to announce the start of the FY10 MCC country selection process and with it the MCA Monitor’s annual control of corruption indicator assessment.  The paper analyzes how countries fared on the control of corruption indicator, the one “hard hurdle” indicator for MCA funding eligibility.  It also touches upon what’s sure to be a provocative issue this round: compact-eligible countries that have graduated into the LMIC pool where funding is constrained.  Enjoy this initial insight into the upcoming selection process, give us feedback, and be sure to stay tuned for our complete analysis of all MCC indicators coming later this year.

Posted by Sheila Herrling in Rethinking U.S. Foreign Assistance Tags:

We’ve just posted our annual overview of how MCA countries fared on the control of corruption indicator that will be used in the FY09 eligibility selection round. Recall that the MCC treats this indicator as a “hard hurdle” meaning a country must pass to be selected as eligible for MCC assistance.
The rest of the indicators are now officially in and we will be analyzing them and presenting soon our annual predictions paper on which countries will be selected in the FY09 eligibility round. So keep your eyes open.
